14/10/2020

Welcome to another midweek rant about nothing and everything. We here in the UK face more restrictions imposed by an inept government who we cannot remove legally for three more years. They have failed the people of England more than the First Ministers of both Scotland and Wales, yet still deem themselves capable of defeating a global pandemic and the European council on behalf of everyone. They are moronic people who only wish to better their own agenda’s rather than better the livelihoods of a combined United Kingdom. On that note I will check out what is rant worthy today starting in America as always.

So it’s twenty days till the official election day in America where you the American people get to have your say on whether you will re-elect a mad narcissistic orange man back in to the Whitehouse for four more years of death, destruction, corruption and lies or a well-respected proven former Vice President who is a man of all the people, not just the white privileged elite of America. Make your vote count, because you are heading in to a very long dark tunnel of a future if you give Trump four more years to destroy the American way of life and that is an outsider’s view looking in.

In Pennsylvania yesterday Trump started by asking suburban women to like him, telling them ‘Trump’ saved suburbia and for some insane reason likes referring to himself in the third person, Trump this, Trump that, Trump three bags full, when making speeches. This man keeps on throwing the same old speeches out there at each rally he does, insulting Biden, insulting Obama [who isn’t even a concern anymore for Trump] and trying to make people see some good in his flailing presidency which has caused over 215,000 deaths which is made worse by, yet another rally where idiotic Trump supporters failed to take precautions to prevent yet another super spreader event by refusing to wear masks. You know what is even funnier when you compare the two candidates events, Biden always appears on a stage or a small platform backed by the American flag while Trump always somehow manages to have a background of moronic idiots waving banners saying Women for Trump or Veterans for Trump or Pro-life voices for Trump or NRA for Trump. Biden’s rallies are about all the people while Trump rallies are designed for Trump’s ego.

With both candidates trundling their campaigns through the states that seem to produce a national win for whomever wins the votes in that state, the American people are still suffering as businesses close, unemployment rises and the Republican Party would rather push a Supreme Court Justice’s nomination through before November 3rd, than cooperate with the house Democrats to bring in to action a COVID relief bill which would help those flailing small businesses and dire financial aid for those people suffering due to been made unemployed. This is a travesty for you the American voting public which needs to be addressed with a nationwide turn to ‘Blue’, so the poorer peoples of the nation receive the help rather than the multi-conglomerates that the Trump administration and the Republican Party have steered the funding in to with their tax cuts and COVID aid which is just wrong on all counts.

Speaking of the US Supreme Court nomination, Barrett evaded all questions about her views on key issues on day two of her Senate confirmation hearing. The conservative judge repeatedly refused to be drawn on abortion, healthcare and LGBTQ rights openly stating she had "no agenda" and vowed to stick to "the rule of law". If Judge Barrett passes the committee hearing, the full Senate will vote to confirm or reject her for a lifelong place on the top US court which means for the rest of her life, however long or short it may be she will receive over a quarter of a million dollars a year as a salary which if she lives to the same age as Judge Ginsberg who was 87 years old when she died, would mean Judge Barrett would earn $11,000,000 for simply sitting on her white religious privileged ass deciding how you the downtrodden American people should lead your lives, that is just disgusting! Who says there isn’t profit in criminality? The politicians and the highest ranking law enforcement personnel certainly do. But they say money isn’t the motivator and justice is, yet justice isn’t morality.

When it comes to the Republican Party they are simply two faced hypocrites because McConnell, Graham and Cruz all voiced their contempt at the Obama/Biden presidency trying to insert their own justice nominee in to the Supreme Court during an election year and what do they do? They decide to switch lanes and do a U-turn doing exactly what they showed contempt for back in 2016. If the Republican do manage to get what they want before the presidential election on 3rd November it would give the nine-member court a 6-3 conservative majority, altering the ideological balance of the court for potentially decades to come. Democrats fear Judge Barrett's successful nomination would favour Republicans in politically sensitive cases that reach the Supreme Court such as Abortion, Voters rights, Minorities rights, Immigration rights, LGBTQ+ rights and so many more rights the Republicans deem are Un-American, Unreligious and Unjust. America I keep saying the same old rhetoric over and over again if Trump wins in twenty days, not only does America lose, but so does the world. Do you want to remain the pariah of the world or do you want to once again soar like the eagles of democracy for the whole world to follow?

Politics, politics, politics is all I have covered so far today, yet there is still a global issue with the coronavirus which Trump has called a hoax, a simple flu and now claims once you catch it, if you live, you are immunised against further chances of been infected. This has been proved wrong as a man in the United States has caught COVID twice, with the second infection becoming far more dangerous than the first. The 25-year-old needed hospital treatment after his lungs could not get enough oxygen into his body. Yes reinfections remain rare and he has now recovered, but the study in the Lancet Infectious Diseases raises questions about how much immunity can be built up to the virus. The man from Nevada had no known health problems or immune defects that would make him particularly vulnerable to COVID, but the truth is now out there catching and surviving doesn’t make you immune, so F*** you Trump! Also the company Johnson & Johnson has paused its COVID vaccine trial to investigate why one participant in the study fell ill. The company has stated an independent review would check if the person's unexplained symptoms were related to the jab and they have suspended recruitment to the phase three trial as a precaution. So if we are within weeks of a vaccine for the virus, MR Trump, where is your indisputable facts or physical proof that substaniates the statement you keep making? Prove to the world you have the answers!

On that decisive question I will hop the pond and see what shambolic cock-up my own government has been making since yesterday. So today is the start of the new three-tier system of COVID -19 restrictions which has begun in England. They say that most of the country is in the lowest tier which is medium, but millions of people in the North and the Midlands could face extra curbs on households mixing like that which has begun in the Merseyside region which is the only area to be under the toughest rules, with pubs and bars who do not serve meals been forced to close. The worrying facts are that government health officials are due to meet to discuss the possibility of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and some other areas joining the top tier of very high. There were problems within the Liverpool region last night as two hours before new lockdown rules took effect and when the pubs were forced to close, some of them for the length of the new lockdown rules, police were forced to disperse large crowds in the city as revellers mingled in groups disobeying the rule of six and distancing protocols pitting the freedoms of the public with the dictatorship of the authorities.

This is just more evidence that we are been treated like sheep to be shepherded however this authoritarian primeminister and cabinet wish to do so. Everything about Johnson’s methods are wrong! He is trying to turn the country back in time to when people were subservient to the will of the government and police forces as well as the armed services were used to crush separatists in manner that would make Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Marx, Lenin and Castro very proud. Some would also say Johnson is trying to emulate how Thatcher responded to the miner’s protests of the 1980’s when she sent in the police and army to curb the miner’s unwilling to accept mine closures.

Meanwhile in the rest of the UK, Northern Ireland has announced an extension to the half-term holidays for schools, from Monday, alongside other new measures aimed at curbing the spread of the virus and in Wales a short circuit breaker lockdown is being "actively considered" by the government while Scotland has already implemented new restrictions nationwide.

On a completely separate tangent I find myself saddened by the methods been used to instil compliance throughout the country for the good of the population, but what saddens me more is the way certain groups are been treated mentally and physically. I cared for my father for years while he suffered with a form of dementia which slowly ate away at his whole existence and saw first-hand how dementia can create problems. I am only two aware of the stresses caring for a person with dementia can cause an individual, but when I read a recent story about how a 77 year old man prior to the coronavirus outbreak was treated whilst in the care of nurses in a hospital in Kent, I was heartbroken and outraged to think someone’s father could be so badly treated, not once, but on nineteen separate occasions causing skin to be torn, bruising to the arms and legs, all for the sake of the instillation of a catheter which on numerous times the patient had asked staff to stop, but finally on another occasion spitting out at nurses who resorted to placing a cloth over his face to prevent him spitting instead of just sedating him.

The same hospital which is run by the East Kent Hospitals Trust is at the centre of an independent investigation into maternity failures and was charged last week over the death of baby Harry Richford. It has also been the subject of legal action by hospital inspectors over its failure to stop the spread of Covid-19 in the hospital in recent months. Thankfully there is a happy ending to this story as the patient was moved to another hospital and is now settled in a different care home facility. This time things ended happily for the patient and his family, but how many times in the past have patients be physically restrained when it has gone unreported and ended badly causing a coronary. I believe that most medical staff are doing a great a job in healing their patients, but the stresses of their day to day job will sometimes eventually cause them to snap, so the answer is in the hands of the government who instead of making nurses jobs more appreciable and substantially better paid as was promised back in May the government has put forward a proposal to increase their own salaries by £3300 per annum starting next year. This is the people we voted in to power abusing said power for their own benefits while the rest of the United Kingdom suffer.

As I see and read more each day it is my conclusion that the style of governments we inevitably choose is down to how we see ourselves because a politician is merely a reflection of the person we wish ourselves to be. If you align with Trump, Pence, McConnell, Graham, Cruz in the US or Johnson, Raab, Jenrick, Patel, Gove, Hancock in the UK, you are choosing to be a person who looks out for themselves before their family, friends, neighbours or colleagues, but if you align with the other side like Biden, Harris, Buttgieg, Sanders, Warren in the US or Kier Starmer, Rayner, Miliband, Phillipson, McDonald you are choosing the be a person of the people. But if you find yourself undecided only you can choose who you align your allegiance to, but take heed and vote with a clear conscience because if you choose wrong it is only you, you can blame. Myself I am a liberal type of guy so could not in all conscience vote for any of the above. On that note I will call it a day,

Rant you tomorrow!
