31/05/2020

On this Sunday, the last day of May in the year of 2020 I feel ranting about the hipocracy been seen around the world especially with in certain governments and leaders elected to represent the people of their countries is ineffective. What I will say is I am a fifty one year old white heterosexual single British man and cannot say I understand the struggle people of colour or sexual diversity face first hand, but what I have read and seen over the years does give me a prospective to the kind of abuse faced by someone within these communities.

At this time of unprecedented upheaval within the world today it fills me with remorse and anger when I read about how one man elected to such a powerful position of leadership can hideaway from the grotesque treatment of not just one person of colour who was unlawfully killed by four men giving the responsibility to protect and serve the public, but can openly condone and openly back the outright violence the police and national guard are inflicting on peaceful protesters firing paint pellets or rubber bullets at unarmed civilians as well as at reporters and news crews reporting on the unrest, just so they weren't witnessed committing acts of unprovoked violence. In one social media post uploaded from a family home in Minneapolis, an armed military vehicle can be clearly seen rolling down an American neighbourhood street as if they were in an Afghan or Iraqi war zone quickly followed by armed police officers dressed in riot gear running down the road and when they saw people peacefully watching them, instead of one of the officers approaching to simply ask them to go inside they stopped and started firing paint pellets at them shouting "get inside" which is clearly not protecting and serving, but attacking unarmed civilians. This kind of behaviour cannot be allowed to continue and these officers should be at the very least reprimanded or sacked.

These peaceful protests are being infiltrated by the left wing groups and anarchists openly looking to riot and start a civil war that was clearly predicted would happen the moment the people of America elected a narcissistic racial advocate who believes in white supremacy and the oppression of women as well as one law for white rich men and one law for everyone else. This man has openly plotted with white supremacists, evangelical extremists and has backed corrupt actions by his staff and family, then changes one of his deceitful multiple masks to try and win voters back, but in his next breath lays the blame at  the feet of the governors and mayors of the rioting cities and states for the civil unrest when the reason clearly started with himself and his ineptitude.

While all these separate peaceful protests are filmed and falsely reported as riots, what isn't been reported are the acts of solidarity amongst the protesters of all colours, but especially the black men who to prevent looting by using themselves to barricade shop fronts and one incident where a police officer in riot gear was cut off from the rest of his unit a group of black men put themselves between a group of protesters and the officer to protect him. What the leader of the so called land of liberty and the free did yesterday instead of concerning himself with the growing civil war within his country was fly to Florida to watch a space craft launch taking yet another opportunity to puff out his chest and stand in front of cameras.

I could go on and on about America, but as I said I'm British, so let me take a look at what's been happening here. I have to say when I see what is happening in America as a non religious person I find myself thanking God I was born in England, even if I feel I should be Scottish. The main headlines are that of the lockdown been eased, shops been allowed to reopen and schools accepting children back through their doors as of tomorrow despite the country's COVID-19 alert system indicating high levels of transmission well above those estimated by the government and against recommendations of the scientific community. Boris Johnson has been clearly absent, hiding away from the press as he is struggling to answer the hard questions time and time again leaving his cabinet ministers to face the onslaught like the foreign secretary who defended the government easing of lockdown measures in England from tomorrow. Dominic Raab during an interview with Andrew Marr said England is "transitioning" from level four, when there should be enforced social distancing measures, to level three, when they can start to be relaxed and that the approach is "cautious". So once again we read about and witness through televised or social media interviews that our elected officials cannot make up their minds to the best course the country should take which isn't surprising considering we now live within a fractured United Kingdom as each nation making up the combined country goes in their own direction independent of the elected parliament in London, is this the start of the United kingdom's collapse and separation with the only thing each separate nation holds in common been the figure head of the royal family whether it be Queen Elizabeth or Prince Charles or Prince William. I think as a country we need some clarity to whether we are one or four separate nations, so the people of those nations can choose who they listen to or the decision is made to disband the UK and form a coalition called the G4 where each countries governing party meets in a central location with a representative of the royal household to govern as one nation under the Union flag.

30/05/2020

And in to another weekend we go, with the world in turmoil. Let's see what is rantable today

In America, While cities in his own country riot and burn over his inept running of the country which now has over one hundred thousand deaths recorded due to the pandemic and its treatment of the minority classes (non white races) like the death of an innocent black man at the hands of over zealous cops, Trump's main focus is still squarely on blaming other people and organisations like China and the World Heath Organisation for the current death toll in America, so yesterday instead of concentrating on his own countries problems he announced that he (as in himself, not congress) was terminating the country's relationship with the World Health Organisation (WHO). He has blatantly and publicly accused the WHO of failing to hold Beijing to account over the coronavirus pandemic saying  "China has total control over the World Health Organisation," while announcing measures aimed at punishing Beijing. He went on to say that Washington, not America, will redirect funds to other bodies by stopping the US contribution estimated at four hundred million dollars.

This is a mad man criticising and lashing out at anybody he deems to be his enemy with tirade after tirade of non evidential BS to deflect the shit storm away from his now failing presidency and second term re-election chances hoping that laying the blame on outsiders will return the popular vote back to him, all this while protesters battle with secret service personnel outside the Whitehouse gates and the national guard enter the streets of Minneapolis in the biggest operation in the cities history. Also the military is been readied to deploy to the city meaning if it does American soldiers will be asked to fight American civilians on American soil creating a second civil war and this will give the white nationalists exactly what they want an excuse to take their fight in to the streets of America. There were other protest groups formed in other American cities in support of Minneapolis in Atlanta, New York, Dallas, Detroit, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Oakland which should be telling America and the World that under Trump, America is becoming a third world country where white privilege rules and any other races are superfluous to the running of a once great nation, but mostly that there is no longer a constitution being followed as each one of the blood soaked rules is flaunted by its own leader.

Well that's enough about president racist, let's see what primeminister clown has bee up to in dear old Blighty.  So Johnson has lifted the lockdown to allow schools, shops and businesses to reopen in June, while his scientific advisers have warned of the risk of lifting the lockdown in England too soon. Professor John Edmunds has stated it is a "political decision" to ease measures while Sir Jeremy Farrar has said the NHS test and trace system should be "fully working", more definitive proof that the left hand doesn't communicate with the right hand and everything done since the virus struck has been purely for political gain not public safety. Back in April in a SAGE meeting it was estimated that the number of new cases of the virus would be around one thousand per day by mid may while in fact estimates by the Office for National Statistics suggests the current number of new cases is currently around eight times that value at eight thousand per day in England alone and do not include cases in care homes or hospitals. In other words everything the government is feeding us in these well televised briefings is pure BS and they are nowhere near getting control of this pandemic according to at least four members of Sage who have stated in interviews or posted on Twitter that releasing lockdown measures now is too soon and is likely to cause a second wave of infections as the R number was still too close to one and it was important we "don't lose control" at this stage of the pandemic.

What we can see, is the scientific community collectively voicing there opinions openly, so they can't be used as scapegoats when the governments political agenda causes a greater number of deaths during a second or even a third wave of spreading unlike other countries around the world where their leaders have taken note of their advisors creating the spread to plateau instead of rise. Clearly in England, as at the moment we appear to be no longer the United Kingdom, we need a vote of no confidence in the present government and should create a cross party coalition placing each party leader withing the cabinet until this present situation is resolved followed quickly by a new general election to unseat maybe not the conservative party but at least the present cabinet members because they are surely too inept to continue.

Rant you tomorrow!

Friday 29 May 2020

29/05/2020

So we have reached yet another Friday in lockdown and very little has changed except the two most incompetent world leaders ever are still screwing up the public's lives. Let's see what there's to rant about today.

In America the battle between Trump and Twitter has escalated to the next level as twitter censored one of trumps tweets which was deemed to violate their rules about glorifying violence. But instead of it being deleted, it was replaced with a warning and can still be viewed by clicking on it. The warning said "Twitter has determined that it may be in the public's interest for the Tweet to remain accessible". Trump was tweeting about the US city of Minneapolis, which has seen consecutive nights of protests following the death of a black man in police custody. The tweet told people that Trump would "send in the National Guard", and then followed that up with a warning that "when the looting starts, the shooting starts." It was the second tweet which was hidden by Twitter for "glorifying violence". In mid-2019 Twitter's announced that it was implementing a policy where they would add a warning to, rather than deleting, tweets that broke its rules when it came to major public figures violating their rules. But the social network has never before now used it on Trump and have never deleted any of his tweets before. The same post remains unaltered on Facebook, without any warning attached. As far as I can tell once again we see the rich getting away with literal murder and it's about time someone put a stop to it, If a normal person did anything like what some celebrities do on Twitter or Facebook their accounts would be suspended and to top off this war of words Trump has threatened to get rid of his whole account, Don't just threaten us with it Mr President just F****** do it and give us all some relief from your narcissistic, racist and uneducated tirades because in the end only you lose out, as you will be silencing yourself and where else can you spout your BS. Yet while Trump busy's himself with his war on social media instead of the more important tasks of saving lives, US senators have offered a bipartisan Three billion dollar plan to prepare for the next global health crisis, putting a premium on fighting disease outbreaks and pandemics like COVID-19 as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has now topped more than 1.7 million , and more than 100,000 deaths related to the disease.

So while America's imbecile cracks up over social media let's see what the UK's imbecile has been up to. Johnson has now stated that we can now graciously congregate in groups of up to six people from different households, but it must be outside in England only from Monday, We are allowed to meet in gardens - in addition to parks - as long as households keep two metres apart. His exact words were "These changes mean friends and family will start to meet loved ones," in what would be a "long awaited and joyful moment" adding that it was now possible because the government's five tests were being met. Currently, people in England can only meet one other person from another household at a distance in a public place, but speaking at Thursday's Downing Street briefing Johnson contradicted himself once again by stating people should "try to avoid seeing people from too many households in quick succession" to help "avoid the risk of transmission from lots of different families" and that this rule meant people would now be able to see "both parents at once, or both grandparents at once", doesn't that fill your heart with gratitude having some moron tell you your now allowed to see your family, but do not touch as that is still against the law. He also stated we were allowed to have barbecues providing we are "scrupulous" about washing our hands, maintain good hygiene and social distancing practices, but he then went on to insist that the government does not want people to stay overnight at other households. "I'm afraid we're not at that stage yet!".

So what he basically said was that families can visit each other as long as there are no more than six people at a time, no touching allowed, it has to be outside, not in confined spaces, stay two metres apart, adhere to hygiene protocols and under no circumstances have a sleep over (a do what we say, not what we do scenario) and do it now, but don't concern yourself about how the government and its aides are openly breaking lockdown rules themselves.

Rant you tomorrow!

28/05/2020

Here we are again, Thursday is upon us. Let's see what there is to rant about today.

In America it begins, the mental breakdown of a president on the edge, as Trump starts over reacting once again in his on going illiterate fight with social media and other media outlets. After his tirade once again on twitter who he sees as the enemy (but still uses there platform for his tirades), he publicly attacked the Atlantic magazine metaphorically laughing at the fact they had to lay off twenty percent of there workforce, just because they wrote a couple of scathing reports about him. This is a man who is using his position of authority to chastise his enemies rather than using it to decrease the unemployment within his country especially at a time when the unemployment rate is soaring out of control. He has also lost it over his inflammatory tweets been fact checked now (by the so called enemy of free speech) by threatening to sign an executive order targeting social media firms It comes after he threatened to shut down social media platforms he accused of stifling conservative voices. The order's details have not been shared and it is unclear what regulatory steps the president can actually take without new laws passed by Congress. White House officials gave no further information on what is expected in the executive order which is set to be signed on Today.

So once again we see a president trying to circumvent due process to get what he wants, surely giving one person such an ability where he can choose to sign an order without getting permission is a big mistake especially when that person is clearly mentally deranged. Even so with America's history of electing old white men to such a position of power is ludicrous and is clear that a age limit on who can run for office should be implemented ASAP making it impossible for some one to become the president if they are, for example, under forty five and over fifty five years old which gives the person running the country a reasonable mental agility. Another factor which could be implemented is that no person who has not previously served as a senator or governor should be allowed to run for the office of president and must have served at least on term in that position giving them some kind of background in local politics. I am not saying the UK has a perfect system, but at least some one fresh off the sidewalk can't put themselves forward to run the country and they have to be a member of parliament first.

Speaking of dear old Blighty, let's see what has been happening there over the last twenty four hours that we can rant about. So we see the roll out of the governments 'Test and trace system' is kicking off in England and Scotland where thousands of contact tracers are making their first phone calls to track down people who will be told to self-isolate under new test and trace schemes being launched in England and Scotland. Tracers will text, email or call people who test positive with coronavirus and ask who they have had contact with and if those contacts are deemed at risk of infection they will be told, not asked, told to isolate for 14 days, even if they are not sick, with those who have already had the virus also been asked to self-isolate. The aim of the system is to lift blanket lockdown restrictions and move towards more localised, targeted measures, in other words we are going to be monitored, watched, dictated to and governed as if we live in a dictatorship, not a democracy. The 25,000 tracers working for England's NHS Test and Trace team will start by contacting the 2,013 people who tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said in the daily coronavirus briefing that it is the public's "civic duty" to follow the instructions of the NHS Test and Trace team. then went on to say "This will be voluntary at first because we trust everyone to do the right thing. But we can quickly make it mandatory if that's what it takes," he added again throwing a threat out in to the public domain stating how the lockdown could become more of a military state than a democratic one, again alluding to a big brother style dystopia. Scientists, including those advising the government, have warned that it will be harder to get public support for such measures in the wake of the row over the prime minister's chief adviser, Dominic Cummings and his two hundred and sixty mile journey from London to County Durham and his sixty mile round trip to Barnard Castle because, he said, he was concerned about childcare for his son when his wife became ill and that he was only testing his eye sight for the long trip back to London.

What we are seeing at the moment in two of the worst hit countries is inept leaders trying to demand loyalty from their country rather than working with the relevant civilian services to rectify the current predicament the world finds itself in. We only have to look at the likes of Russia and China to see what a martial law scenario would look like. Russia has become volatile over the last few years with greedy politicians running the infrastructure down, so it now can't cope with the deluge of virus cases, while China's parliament has backed a new security law for Hong Kong which would make it a crime to undermine Beijing's authority in the territory and has caused deep concern among those who say it could end Hong Kong's unique status, which could also see China installing its own security agencies in the region for the first time. The move has already sparked a new wave of anti-mainland protest with running battles between protesters and authorities including the use of water cannons and smoke grenades. Is this really the way we want to let our governing bodies run our countries, further pushing us in to a dystopian world of martial law and the rich ruling what the poor can and can't do reverting us back to an age of indentured servitude and morally corrupt hierarchies using force and imprisonment as a means of controlling the public. They all ready have the capability and the technology to spy on our every movement with out our consent, so handing over that consent for them to track and trace who we have contact with second by second is just a step too far in my humble opinion.

Rant you tomorrow!

27/05/2020

Welcome to Wednesday and another load of "BS" to rant about.

Well it seems in America it's all out war with president Trump firing of blanks with a tirade of tweets at anyone who disagrees with him. Over the weekend and through America's memorial day Trump thought it was a good idea to attack his opposition, then he started in on state governors stating mail in ballots would be too easy to duplicate or could be used fraudulently using his twitter account, tweeting without providing evidence: "There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent.". Unfortunately for Trump, Twitters new fact checking bot highlighted this tweet with a warning label in the post which displays as a blue exclamation mark underneath the tweets, suggesting readers "get the facts about mail-in ballots" under its new policy on misleading information. Trump responded by tweeting again, saying the social media giant "is completely stifling free speech". Trump's presidential campaign manager Brad Parscale also criticised Twitter, tweeting "Partnering with biased fake news 'fact checkers' is a smoke screen to lend Twitter's obvious political tactics false credibility. There are many reasons we pulled all our advertising from Twitter months ago, and clear political bias is one of them". Does everyone that works for this dementia driven psycho just bow down and pander to his every whim just so they can keep their high paying jobs because all I see are monkeys with the organ grinders hand stuck firmly up their asses controlling their every thought, come on America get some back bone and give this narcissistic malevolent entity the heave ho and do it now so the rest of the world can feel at ease instead of scared, worrying when or if this mental case pushes the big red button and sends us all to oblivion.

Well back in dear old Blighty, it's not any better as in the last twenty four hours the government has lied, deceived, backed an idiot and lost a member of parliament. The row over Cummings trip across country rolls on with the governments cabinet minister's been used as puppets to back the prime ministers highly paid lackey which makes you wonder what dirt does Cummings have on Johnson to keep him from firing him. Is there some skeletons Johnson is too ashamed to reveal and Cummings has the proof. There has to be something stopping Johnson firing the person who has the ear of the man in charge of our country especially as the row has incited at least thirty five conservative MP's to call for the resignation of Cummings and for one junior minister to resign amidst the shit show been displayed by senior members of the cabinet who are calling for everyone to move on. As much as the prime minister may want to draw a line in the sand over the incident, he can't as he
will be questioned by senior MP's amid continued calls for his top adviser to resign not only by the public, but also by high ranking religious figures, other party members and anyone with a sense that justice is not been served. Johnson will appear before the Commons Liaison Committee for 90 minutes, during which he will be asked about Dominic Cummings' controversial lockdown trip to County Durham during session, due to begin at four o'clock and will be the first time that the PM has faced questions from MPs since the allegations against Mr Cummings emerged at the end of last week. Among those set to question the PM will be the committee's chairman, Tory MP Sir Bernard Jenkin, former Tory cabinet ministers Greg Clark and Karen Bradley, ex-Labour minister Hilary Benn and the SNP's Pete Wishart. The bulk of the hearing will be devoted to the government's handling of the coronavirus pandemic, including testing, PPE, schools and the economy, with the section on Mr Cummings' actions due to last less than 30 minutes.

The problem I see with him been questioned by the Commons Liaison Committee is that it's a closed session and run by other MP's meaning where is the accountability to the public and where is the general public's voice in all this. Without outside oversight by non members of parliament how can the public ever trust the people they elect to these posts, surely making up a separate oversight committee based on the crown court system where twelve people made up from lawyers, judges, police officers, Doctors, small business owners and members of the general public can question the prime minister would surely create a better feedback to the nation instead of simply sitting him in front of a group of other MP's who all have their own agenda's.

Rant you tomorrow!

Tuesday 26 May 2020

26/05/2020

The working week starts again for essential workers, while politicians flounder on how best to re-open economies in different nations. let's see what's rantable today.

In America, Trump has spat his dummy out once again and threatened to relocate the Republican National Convention if restrictions are placed on the crowd size due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event is due to take place in North Carolina from 24-27 August. Trump said he would move the site of the convention if "full attendance" is not guaranteed, this coming from the man that has overseen almost 100,000 deaths from coronavirus in the US. So in other words the American president is more worried about how many people can hear his propaganda speeches than how many people will die from the coronavirus should he be allowed to have his own way. Trump's opposition democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has made his first public appearance after more than two months in quarantine amid the COVID-19 crisis. respecting lockdown protocols Biden appeared wearing a black face mask as he laid a wreath of white roses at a ceremony in his home state of Delaware with his wife at his side. Biden told reporters through his mask and at a distance "It feels good to be out of my house," adding: "Never forget the sacrifices that these men and women made. Never, ever, forget". Trump also laid a wreath to celebrate Memorial Day at the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington National Cemetery with all the pomp and show expected of the inept ignorant president he is, putting lives at risk just so he can have his ego stroked.

While back in dear old Blighty, the other inept ignorant leader has backed his chief aid once again for breaking lockdown rules to travel from one end of England to the other. Mr Cummings has faced calls to resign after it emerged he had driven his child and ill wife from London to County Durham during lockdown. At a news conference in the garden of 10 Downing Street yesterday afternoon, he said he did not regret his actions, and believed he acted reasonably and legally. Cummings also said he was testing his eyesight to see if he could make the trip back down to London. He explained that he had experienced some eyesight problems during his illness. In itself that comment was stupid because attempting to drive nearly three hundred miles to test his eye sight is extremely dangerous just to see if there was any problems, normal people would seek medical advice beforehand. On the back of this statement PM Boris Johnson in his own statement defended Cummings again, telling reporters that he believed his chief adviser had acted reasonably and legally which sounded just like the proverbial get your story right and read from the script type of statement expected. The prime minister also announced that non-essential shops in the UK would be allowed to open from the 15th June. Outdoor markets and car showrooms will be able to open on the 1st June meaning more strategic planning and nightmares. both Cummings and Johnson were also backed by Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove who said Mr Cummings' account of his actions was "exhaustive, detailed and verifiable" and "people will make their own mind up", but as reported there are still six unanswered questions, no one involved in government have opened up to answer which isn't unusual as this particular government are very good at deflecting and covering up the truth.

Rant you tomorrow!

Monday 25 May 2020

25/05/2020

Once again we start another week in lockdown and we have another bank holiday to navigate through, so let's see what "BS" has been happening shall we.

In America, Trump just seems to want to deflect his inept handling of the coronavirus by siting false propaganda and inflammatory insults on twitter about his political enemies and newscasters who speak out against him which has angered some members of his own party who have called for him to stop spreading paranoia as it will destroy the republican party come November. Also all last week it was seen that he was condoning the lack of social distancing by people through out the country by doing unnecessary public engagements and playing golf while medical staff fight to save lives, then he kicks off the twenty, twenty memorial day celebration by inviting ex-veterans who are members of the Rolling to Remember Motorbike club to parade at the whitehouse with no concept of social distancing which in itself was immorally wrong. This man has no concept of how to run a country and takes every chance he can to fill his own pockets by using tax payers money to support his own businesses then pats himself on the back by saying he has donated his salary for been president to charities which is so damn hypercritical as what he earns is simply been replaced by other avenues such as his regular golf trips, family businesses getting government contracts, family on the presidential payroll and siphoning of donations from his re-election campaign in to his private bank accounts. America wake up and smell the roses for they smell of death and decay which has happened on Trump's watch.

So as we see one political idiot kill America let's see what another inept idiot is doing to dear old Blighty. Well its more of the same as our government leader deflects and lies to protect the ineptitude of his minister's and aides especially Dominic Cummings who he backed saying the journey taken was not illegal or breaking the rules on live television, also refusing to answer questions still unanswered about his chief aides two hundred and sixty mile journey. This has brought into question the governments handling of the affair and has has now been widely criticised by Tory backbenches, senior Church of England bishops and scientists advising ministers on the pandemic. Acting Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey said it undermined the prime minister's authority on the coronavirus crisis and Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon warned the consequences of Boris Johnson's decision could be "serious", while Labour has called for an inquiry. Once again it can be seen that the inept cowboys running the country are circling the wagons around the poisoned challis hoping the savages will give up and go home, so they can carry on hiding and lying about what they do or don't do clearly unable to be truthful, open, honest and transparent to the people they were elected to serve. I will openly say I as a voting member of the public have never voted for the Tory party and especially did not vote for the floppy haired moron now taking up residence in number ten downing street as I knew along with countless others what a shit show of a job this man would do if elected.

Rant you tomorrow!

Sunday 24 May 2020

24/05/2020

Yet another weekend in lockdown, where most people are doing there best to cope while others flaunt the requests to stay safe by gathering in groups, let's see what other topics there are to rant about today.

In America, as the death toll nears one hundred thousand Trump is creating backlash as he is pictured playing golf at his golf course in Virginia while his country suffers. It must be so nice to be able to just drop everything and wander around your own golf course instead of doing your job that you were elected to do while being mollycoddled by others.  In other news, a senior paramedic in New York City, Anthony Almojera is used to being close to death. But nothing in his 17-year career could have prepared him for the outbreak of coronavirus. The state has now had more diagnosed cases of the virus than any single country. It has the grim distinction of being at the forefront of a global health crisis. Anthony is now working 16-hour days to try to save people across the city, while supporting colleagues who fear for their lives and their families. All this while the Trump administration still plays down the affect of the virus on the country and trump finds time to tweet inflammatory remarks accusing countries and individuals of being murderers and liars when in fact he is the culprit for much worse acts of mass murder, fraud, sexual assault, lies, etc. All in all it still astounds me daily that such a person could ever lie and manipulate his way in to such a position.

And back in dear old Blighty the main focus of the news is still on the illegal movements of Johnson's chief aide Cummings travelling to Durham and the lies behind the journey, as several Conservative MPs have called for Dominic Cummings to quit, amid claims he broke coronavirus lockdown rules. Two national papers have accused Cummings of taking a second trip to Durham after returning to London while Grant Shapp, the Transport minister claimed the second trip was untrue and Mr Cummings would not be resigning his position in an interview on the Marr Show. It's clear that the public are being kept in the dark, the government busybodies are lying about certain topics and hiding necessary facts in an endeavour to sway the backlash from the inept performances of the MP's being tasked with briefings and television interviews as they fumble on through showing an inability to answer direct, probing questions. Again all in all, we have a government body made up of inept politicians who would've folded to Hitler if they were in charge during the war and can't fight their way out of a paper bag.

Rant you tomorrow!

Saturday 23 May 2020

23/05/2020

Good Morning and welcome to Saturday, Let's get started.

In America, it seems that you have a big choice in November and that is to elect either an old orange narcissistic sexual predator in the midst of dementia who clearly sees all women no matter the age as a trophy partnered with a god botherer of a VP to win or an old white gaffe prone suspected sexual predator who promises the world with the intention of partnering up with a female VP to win. My opinion is vote for Biden to be president then six months in impeach him so the female VP can start doing the job properly and also once Trump is out of office find out all the skeletons in the closet and prosecute him to the fullest of the law making him the first ex-president or president to be jailed.

As example of Trump's criminality he has gone on record and deemed houses of worship as essential services, so should be opened which will only spread the virus quicker. This has been proved this week in Germany, where the virus spread rate has increased after church services were held taking the stated precautions of social distancing and sterilisation in to account. In the same god botherer speech he attacked state governors who have deemed liquor shops and abortion clinics as essential services, but have deemed churches as not essential, telling them that he is overruling them once again and declaring that houses of worship are essential.  This is a man who never leaves his white castle or mingles with the lower classes and takes unprescribed medication to fight a disease it wasn't designed for. America please ignore this persons advice.

Anyway let's check in on dear old Blighty. So the big headline is how the PM's chief aide Dominic Cummings travelled with Covid-19 symptoms from London to his relatives in Durham during lockdown. A spokesperson has said it was "essential" for Mr Cummings to ensure he had childcare while he and his wife were unwell and that he had behaved reasonably and legally when he made the 260-mile journey from his London home to County Durham during the lockdown. The spokesperson also said that Mr Cummings sister and nieces had volunteered to help so he went to a house near to, but separate, from his extended family in case their help was needed. His sister shopped for the family and left everything outside. Labour has called for a "clear explanation" for Mr Cummings' actions and that the government should use the daily Downing Street COVID-19 press conference on Saturday to provide answers over the reports adding that the public have made extraordinary sacrifices during this pandemic and the lockdown, so It cannot be one rule for those who set them and another for the British people. As stated in the press there is a clear divide between the have's and have not's in this country as more and more celebrity's, politicians, rich and entitled people decide they are above the law and flaunt any guidelines set out as if they weren't expected to adhere to the rules.

In other news the primeminister has been urged to appear before a panel of senior MP's as he as yet to respond to a letter requesting him to schedule a two hour slot well before the end of June by the committee's new chairman Sir Bernard Jenkin. In his letter, Sir Bernard said the committee would allow MPs to subject the prime minister to "more detailed scrutiny" than is possible in the Commons chamber, so in other words they can control the narrative unlike in a live televised debate where MP's could throw legitimate questions at Johnson and the public could hear the answers first hand making their own mind up about Johnson's guilt or innocents. As the prime minister is yet to be grilled by the Commons Liaison Committee - made up of select committee chairs - since taking office in July. Also it was added by the Tory MP for Harwich and North Essex that at this difficult time, it is of crucial importance that Parliament is able to hold government to account. This is a primeminister who has a dubious past trying to hide from tough questions he does not want to answer publicly by using different excuses like the one he used last October stating he was too busy trying to deliver Brexit. Clearly he is inept at doing any of his elected roles whether it be mayor, member of parliament, cabinet minister or primeminister, this man is just useless at the job and is a privileged wannabe.

22/05/2020

So we have reached Friday again, so let's see what topics pop up to rant about today.

Well the headlines out of America is how Trump removed a mask before facing cameras at a car factory saying he wore the mask in a back area during a factory tour in Michigan, but removed it before facing the cameras so his supposed image wasn't tarnished. He told reporters he took off the facial covering at the Ford car plant because he "didn't want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it", and he was about to make a speech. He did this despite Michigan's attorney general urging the president to comply with health guidelines, the president insisted it was unnecessary because he is regularly tested for coronavirus. So as usual Trump and his administration think they are above the rest of the world and just because he is tested regularly he won't catch the disease which is simply stupidity at work. Even though he was in Michigan, Trump again let rip on twitter blasting the state for openly sending out over seven million absentee voting applications calling it illegal to do so and threatened to withhold federal aid badly needed in the state all because he wants to control who can or can't vote especially since Michigan is a swing state. The threat is to make people vote for him so they can receive the necessary aid which in itself is illegal and a breach of power. Also it was revealed that Mike Pompeo used American tax dollars to throw lavish parties for the Fox news network, again highly illegal and he should be investigated. In every level of Trump's administration we are seeing financial backhanders, stock fraud, nepotism in job allocations and blatant lying, so again I ask how is this man still President which hopefully will be rectified in November as more and more republicans voice their disgust and unwillingness to support such a presidency.

Okay let's jump back to dear old Blighty and see what our so called politicians are failing at. So the main news is that Johnson and his administration are being viewed as in disarray after backing down over NHS fees for overseas health and care workers, also the they have made a decision to resume parliament on the second of June which means MP's will no longer be paid to stay at home and do F*** all. They will have to travel to London to resume sessions in the house of parliament and will no longer be allowed to vote virtually. This is being done to bring rogue MP's back to heel as Johnson's government begins to appear more and more rattled by the pandemic along with the public outcry for better leadership due to Johnson's shabby handling of the virus on both television and in parliament itself. His adversaries in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and in the opposition party have outshone the primeminister on all occasions which has led to his notable absence when his party as well as the country has needed him to show solid leadership as the figure head of the countries politicians, instead he has hidden away and allowed some rather inept cabinet ministers face the onslaught of criticism and answer the hard questions inadequately which inevitably has led to a ratings slump coming on the back of the London assembly’s decision to continue investigating alleged links between his private entanglements and his work as the capital’s mayor between 2008 and 2016. As a voter I find it so in despicable how such a man could have ever been voted in as an MP let alone being selected as party leader or primeminister, obviously their was a lot of under the counter handshakes with promises of "You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours", allowing such an unprofessional, snot nosed schoolboy make a living lying to the people he promised to serve while filling his pockets with their hard earned cash.

21/05/2020

So, as we go through another Thursday, let's see what there's to rant about.

In America,  A US TV host has furiously hit back at Donald Trump for falsely suggesting her husband and co-presenter may have got away with murder. Trump once again used Twitter to verbally abuse someone openly appearing to link MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough to the death of an aide two decades ago, a conspiracy theory debunked by police. Mika Brzezinski said on air as she defended her husband, "Donald, you're a sick person, you're really a cruel, sick, disgusting person". She also demanded Twitter take down the president's incendiary tweets. Ms Brzezinski also said "He's once again tweeting conspiracy theories about Joe, falsely accusing him of murder", on her MSNBC show Morning Joe on Wednesday, before addressing the president directly. She then went on to question how the president could subject the family of a congressional aide - who authorities said died of natural causes in Mr Scarborough's office in 2001 - to such "BS". So it seems Trump is trying to really deflect the headlines narrative away from how incompetent a leader he is by falsely accusing anyone his pee brained intellect can think up. Ms Brzezinski has called for twitter to take down Trump's account after he tweeted this inflammatory comment on Wednesday which read  "When will they open a Cold Case on the Psycho Joe Scarborough matter in Florida. Did he get away with murder? Some people think so. Why did he leave Congress so quietly and quickly? Isn't it obvious? What's happening now? A total nut job!" which I myself am sure has to be breaching Twitter rules, if not shouldn't we all take to Twitter and spread malicious rumours about anyone we want.

Well, in dear old Blighty, it looks like our medical professional are listening to the mad man in the United States by trialling two anti-malarial drugs to see if they could prevent Covid-19. Chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine or a placebo are going to be given to more than 40,000 healthcare workers from Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. It is reported that all the participants are staff who are in contact with Covid-19 patients. The first UK participants in the global trial are being enrolled on Thursday at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals and the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. The UK guinea pigs will be given either hydroxychloroquine or a placebo for three months. These are the first of a planned 25 UK sites, with results expected by the end of the year and is open to anyone delivering direct care to coronavirus patients in the UK, as long as they have not been diagnosed with Covid-19. What worries me is the fact that the drugs being used have been widely warned off as dangerous to the health, so why are they going to be trialled instead of working on a virus vaccine. Shouldn't the goal, be to find a cure not a stop gap the spread, wasn't the reason for lockdown to prevent the spread of the disease.

In other news it looks like PM Johnson will not face a criminal investigation into his dealings with US businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri when he was Mayor of London, it is understood as the Independent Office for Police Conduct is due to publish its findings at midday after a 10 month review. It was alleged Ms Arcuri received favourable treatment during Mr Johnson's time as Mayor due to their friendship which Johnson has always denied any wrongdoing. As we see once again the rich and powerful can get away with murder or circumvent any type of investigation.

In every walk of life the poor or disadvantaged are always the people to suffer in the economy or the law which is something that has to be rectified and made equal before the world will ever move forward. Also politicians and their aides have to be made accountable for any wrong doing unlike the latest news out of America where Trump's ex-lawyer Michael Cohen is to be released from prison on Thursday to home confinement due to Covid-19 concerns. Cohen, who is serving a three-year sentence for lying to Congress and campaign finance fraud. This comes closely on the back of another former Trump aide, ex-campaign chairman Paul Manafort, was released from prison to serve the remainder of his custodial term at home due to Covid-19 fears. Manafort, who was convicted of conspiracy and fraud charges, had served a little over a year of his seven-and-a-half year sentence which is clear breach of any form of ethics and brings in to question what type of influence is being forced on people by politicians to break laws.

Wednesday 20 May 2020

20/05/2020

Welcome to Wednesday, day who the hell knows of lockdown because I don't know, what can we find to rant about today?

So as usual let's start in America where the dementia driven president has argued it is a badge of honour that the US has the world's highest number of confirmed COVID-19 infections saying "I look at that as, in a certain respect, as being a good thing because it means our testing is much better". On Monday whilst he was hosting his first cabinet meeting since the US outbreak began he told reporters, "By the way, you know when you say that we lead in cases, that's because we have more testing than anybody else" then carried on to say "So I view it as a badge of honour. Really, it's a badge of honour. It's a great tribute to the testing and all of the work that a lot of professionals have done". I really can't fathom out how this person actually convinced America he was a good choice for president because every word that leaves his mouth cannot actually be processed by a healthy brain meaning if it pops into his head he just blurts it out, how can any sane person think 1.5 million coronavirus cases and nearly 92,000 deaths is something to be proud of to wear as a badge of honour. Please America for gods sake, do not reelect this imbecilic pensioner, at seventy three he is not capable of doing the job.

With that let's check out if dear old Blighty's imbecile is doing any better. So while Boris Johnson hides from the headlines letting lesser known ministers take on the press starting with a senior minister blaming the governments slow response to the coronavirus as them receiving the wrong advice in the beginning and sky news is reporting that a third of all deaths related to the virus have had an underlying ailment connected to diabetes which is kind of scary, but what is even more unsettling is that twice as many people have died in care homes in England, Scotland and Wales during the pandemic than would be expected in normal times.

All I can see is that this pandemic is outlining the true heroes in local communities and essential workers across the globe, while also showing the inadequacies in our elected officials and government representatives. It's about time that the focus of interest switched from the celebrity or politician to the commoner and the press needs to get on the bandwagon by stopping the paparazzi style stalking, so we can get back to times before the internet and reality television took over the world news headlines. The prime example is Captain Tom Moore, soon to be Sir Tom Moore, who at one hundred years old has shown the world that the war time generation knew how to live life to the fullest while giving back to their communities and the way this veteran has pushed the focus back on to communities and their local heroes is the most commendable act of valour seen in many a year, but it hasn't only been Captain Tom because other pensioners have took up the challenge showing the so called masses who leech off, of society to make a profit and live the high life locked away from actual life how to make a difference.

19/05/2020

So another day started, another rant to share.

So stupidity reigns in America as Trump openly admits he is taking hydroxychloroquine to ward off the coronavirus, despite public health officials warning it may be unsafe. Speaking at the White House, while the 73-year-old president was hosting a meeting devoted to the struggling restaurant industry on Monday, he caught reporters unawares by revealing he was taking the malaria and lupus medication. I tell you this bloke is mentally incompetent and the medical staff who oversee his health must be also. In this surprise announcement he stated "I'm taking it for about a week and a half now and I'm still here, I'm still here," even his speach indicates there is something really wrong with him. The regulatory body who oversees medications warn that the drug may cause heart problems and there is no physical or written evidence that hydroxychloroquine can even fight coronavirus. He went on in the same speach to say "You'd be surprised at how many people are taking it, especially the frontline workers before you catch it, the frontline workers, many, many are taking it," he told reporters. "I happen to be taking it". Then when he was asked what was his evidence of hydroxychloroquine's positive benefits, Mr Trump said: "Here's my evidence: I get a lot of positive calls about it". I thought the twenty fifth ammendmaent could be used to remove a president suspected of health issues, especially mental health, so why is this bloke still in charge and why are so many idiots willing to put up with him or even consider reelecting him for four more years.

On the back of this surprise announcement came another report that Trump has gone to war with the World Health Organisation and has sent a letter to the head of the Organisation threatening to pull US funding permanently over COVID-19. The letter outlines a 30-day deadline for the body to commit to "substantive improvements" or risk losing millions and US membership altogether. So America has a mentally dysfunctional man threatening a health organisation with money which is an issue waiting to happen. The letter was addressed to WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, it criticises stages of the body's response since December.
Earlier on Monday, Mr Trump called the UN's health body a "puppet of China" which in my opinion is his way of deflecting his own incompetence on to everyone else as he faces re-election this year and has himself been criticised for his handling of the pandemic. Trump has systematically laid the blame at China for trying to cover up the outbreak and has accused the WHO of failing to hold Beijing to account. China has repeatedly denied the allegations. On Tuesday the foreign ministry said Mr Trump was trying to mislead the public and smear China. The US has more than 1.5 million of the world's 4.8 million confirmed cases of coronavirus so far, with more than 90,000 deaths.

So what's been going on in Blighty, shall we see if it's rant worthy. The political leaders have engaged in a war of words over the handling of the coronavirus during the coverage of PMQs, Sir Keir Starmer has accused the PM of misleading MPs over advice to care homes at the start of the coronavirus pandemic on controlling infections. Sir Keir has written to the PM to ask him to return to the Commons to correct the record. Downing Street said Sir Keir Starmer had "inaccurately and selectively" quoted from guidance for care homes. Other figures that are being reported are that the number of people claiming unemployment benefit in the UK soared to 2.1 million in April, the first full month of the coronavirus lockdown. The benefit claimant count does not include everyone who is out of work, since not all can claim assistance, but it does indicate the trend. Meanwhile, claims for universal credit - the benefit for working-age people in the UK - hit a record level in the early weeks of lockdown. More than one in three 18 to 24 year old worker is earning less than before the outbreak. It said younger workers risk their pay being affected for years, while older staff may end up involuntarily retired.

As one of those people relying on Universal credit it still bewilders me how people earning fifty to one hundred thousand pounds a year can dictate what an average person should be able to live on, what I would like to see happen is for the leaders of the political parties spend a month living on a single person or even a married couples benefits and see how long they can make the money last when they have to pay an average months expenses as well as any unexpected shortfalls that may crop up. These so called experts have been living the high life that long they wouldn't know how to survive on benefits and would quickly come to the conclusion that it is harder to not work than it is to work because as soon as anyone reaches the poverty level there is really no way out of the downward spiral.
Rant you tomorrow!

Monday 18 May 2020

18/05/2020

Well we start another week in lockdown with some area's eased a little, shall we take a look at what the world gives us to rant about today.

In the headlines from America we are been told president Trump is stepping up his reelection campaign by criticising his predecessor POTUS forty four, Barack Obama who has spent nearly four years keeping a dignified silence about his successor until now. In a televised speech congratulating graduating students he skilfully called out Trump as a big baby without saying the words. In a response Trump openly called Obama a "grossly incompetent" president to reporters as he returned to the Whitehouse which shows the character of the man who is so petty that he is still trying to blame the state of the country on someone else even when he has had the job for over three years. He then went on to say that live sports were good for the collective psyche when he dialled in to a live golf broadcast to applaud the event. How can a man who clearly has a broken manipulative narcissistic psyche really tell others what sport does for people. Also the Biden campaign team picked up on a statement Eric Trump, the president’s son, made and branded him “unbelievably reckless” for suggesting the pandemic is a Democratic plot to stop his father campaigning and will “magically disappear” after election day in November. Clearly stupidity really is hereditary in families because this son is as stupid as his father.

So leaving the stupidity running America, let's take a look at dear old Blighty and what our own stupid politicians are BSing about today. From today loss of smell or taste has been added to the UK's list of coronavirus symptoms that people should look out for and self-isolate with. Until now, only a fever and cough were triggers for people to shut themselves away in self-isolation in case they had and could spread the infection. Ear, nose and throat doctors had been warning for weeks that more symptoms should be included. Scientific advisers told the government to update the advice. On the back of the scientific advise it has also been reported that Security guards trained in crowd control are going to be put on duty at some major railway
stations following the easing of coronavirus restrictions. Train firms operated reduced services while the country was under lockdown, but more frequent trains are now running in England and people are being encouraged to go back to work, but only to use public transport for essential journeys when they have no alternative. Network Rail said passenger numbers on Monday were "very similar" to last week, when the figure was slightly up on the previous week. However, footfall through major UK stations was only about 10% of pre-pandemic levels, but some industry figures still expressed concern over increased passenger numbers.

New crowd-control measures on some public transport will include preventing passengers from boarding if there are already too many people which sounds good in practice but it will inevitably cause delays and people will need to leave plenty of time for travelling while employers ease up on time keeping till we are through this pandemic. The information flow is sadly broken between governments and employers who really don't understand the protocols fully to reopen their businesses safely which if we don't get the information flow right we will never get out of the grip from this virus.

Rant you tomorrow!

Sunday 17 May 2020

17/05/2020

Happy and safe Sunday everybody, so shall we see if the news is worth a rant.

In America Ex-president Obama has largely held his tongue about the actions of his successor but on Friday in a call to 3,000 former aides and officials that was leaked to the media, he let loose saying "There is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free," he further said. "That's the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic - not just institutional norms - but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk."

Trump responded with a flurry of social media posts and retweets on Sunday, accusing Obama and his aides of engaging in a criminal effort to undermine his presidency blaming Obama supporters, numerous reporters and media outlets.
Trump also retweeted a conservative talk-radio host who accused Obama officials of sabotaging Trump in the days before he took office calling it "The biggest political crime in American history, by far!".

On the back of all this it has been reported that Trump's campaign team has sent cease and desist orders to TV stations that run critical ads using his own words and then calls for the arrest of his opponents, what has the humanity done to deserve such a bigoted narcissistic bankrupt leader who is running one of the most powerful countries in the world as his own corrupt dictatorship, I always thought America preached democracy, but as before when a corrupt powerful person takes the reigns they will do anything to stay in power and Trump is such a man!

Back in dear old Blighty, we seem to be having more of the same BS, Though lockdown restrictions have been eased in England, government advice states that people should "not gather in groups of more than two" except with members of their household. The government has warned the coronavirus infection rate will increase if people break the rules. While Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has said different approaches across the four UK nations to tackling coronavirus are not going to "help us out of this crisis". He blamed Prime Minister Boris Johnson for the way Wales and England had diverged in the easing of the lockdown. Sir Keir said it reinforced his call for "radical federalism" across the UK. But Welsh Secretary Simon Hart has said there were "far more similarities than differences in the approaches of the nations of the UK". Also the government has outlined it's plan to reopen schools and categorically stated their plan will prevent any crossover contamination with teacher's and children being safe while three councils have said they will not send children back to school against the governments advice.

All I have to say on these topics is since the general election the words coming out of the prime ministers mouth have been lie after lie after lie with no clear road map to solving anything they say they want to achieve which includes Brexit and now the pandemic. They fumble through telling the public what to do without giving us any confidence in ever reaching a conclusion. Brexit was a foolish idea in the first place, moving the country out of the common market when the livelihoods of millions depended on exports for income, then came a global pandemic hitting an already uncertain economy which the government has promised to bankroll, but what of the future with thousands of unnecessary deaths and businesses that may never recover on top of the amount of billionaires taking advantage of the governments furlough scheme who could have used their own fortunes to sustain their workforce's instead of greedily robbing from the less fortunate lower income businesses, Where do we go from her?

Rant you tomorrow!

Saturday 16 May 2020

16/05/2020

Well It's Saturday and another weekend under lockdown even with the new rules for going outside, so let's see what's to rant about today.

In America, President Donald Trump says the US will reopen, "vaccine or no vaccine", as he announced an objective to deliver a coronavirus vaccine by year end. He likened the vaccine project, dubbed "Operation Warp Speed" (Are we battling aliens now?), to the World War Two efforts to produce the world's first nuclear weapons. But Mr Trump made clear that even without a vaccine, Americans must begin to return to their lives as normal. Many experts doubt that a coronavirus vaccine can be developed within a year. So once again Trump makes the decisions and tells everyone he knows better than the experts.

Also He has made the unilateral decision to sack the US state department's inspector general, Steve Linick, who has become the latest senior official to be fired by Trump. Trump said Mr Linick no longer had his full confidence and that he would be removed in 30 days. Linick had begun investigating Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for suspected abuse of office, reports say. Democrats say Mr Trump is retaliating against public servants who want to hold his administration to account. He had opened an investigation into Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. "This firing is the outrageous act of a president trying to protect one of his most loyal supporters, the secretary of state, from accountability," Eliot Engel, a Democrat, said in a statement.

So back in dear old Blighty, the news is full of more BS from the government telling lies about precautions they claim to have put in place back in February like lockdown protocols in care homes and schools before the general nationwide lockdown. Also since the easing of the lockdown the R rating for the virus spreading has increased again along with another Three Hundred and Eighty Four deaths, so that plan really worked well to get the country moving again and they are now putting plans in place to send the kids back to school, ridiculous. Matt Hancock even admitted in a press briefing he knew nothing about carehomes holding back information on whether there facility had suffered any deaths due to COVID-19 and that he would certainly look into that report which is bloody lacking in professionalism and deflected the question on nurses getting a pay rise by saying they had just received a pay rise, more verbal BS from the governmental bodies who are supposedly leading our country.

What else can the leaders screw up,

Rant you tomorrow!

Friday 15 May 2020

15/05/2020

Well here we are again, it's Friday. The week behind us and another weekend in lockdown ahead. Shall we see what happened yesterday to rant over?

So in America the main news is how Trump has sent five members of the COVID-19 task force to negotiate with the CDC to reduce the death count from the virus. He wants them to cut the count by changing the reason for the deaths to any underlying ailments rather than COVID-19, so that he looks better in the eyes of the American public with his re election pending.

In other news in the Republican chairman of the US Senate intelligence committee will step down while an insider trading inquiry is carried out. Richard Burr of North Carolina said he had decided to do so because he did not want the investigation to distract the committee from its work. Mr Burr's phone has been seized by the FBI as part of the inquiry. The senator, who denies wrongdoing, allegedly used inside information to avoid market losses from coronavirus. He declined a request for comment. Mr Burr and his wife sold as much as $1.7m (£1.4m) of equities in February, just before markets plunged on fears of an economic crisis. It is illegal for members of Congress to trade based on non-public information gathered during their official duties. Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler of Georgia and James Inhofe of Oklahoma, as well as Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, also reportedly sold holdings before the downturn, but are not confirmed to be under investigation. Ms Feinstein said she had answered questions from the FBI regarding trades made by her husband. So from the outside world America has a leader who is corrupt along with Republican senators who milk the country for what they can while they supposedly work for the good of their communities, states and country which just dumbfounds me as a UK resident.

Talking of the UK lets see what's happening in dear old Blighty, the headlines are leading with the story of about the NHS reopening which should include rapid testing and an adequate supply of protective equipment in place when the NHS does reopen services cancelled during the peak of the coronavirus outbreak, health unions have said. The unions have put forward a nine-point plan for the NHS to reopen safely as lockdown restrictions ease. And staff working through the crisis should be paid overtime and a public sector pay freeze ruled out, they say. The government has said it is working "around the clock" to provide more PPE. On the back of that headline another one outlines how some NHS managers have tried to stop doctors speaking publicly about shortages of personal protective equipment, the BBC has been told. WhistleblowersUK said more than 100 healthcare workers had contacted them since the beginning of March, raising concerns about COVID-19 and PPE. The Department of Health said no one should be prevented from speaking up. But Newsnight has seen evidence of pressure being applied to doctors to not share concerns they have about PPE. A newsletter sent out to staff at one trust suggested subjects for tweets, such as thanking staff for their hard work, paying tribute to retired NHS staff who had returned to the workforce and retweeting posts from the trust's account. It specified that staff were to avoid "commenting on political issues, such as PPE". Another trust put up posters in hospital staff areas which told healthcare workers not to "make public appeals for equipment, donations or volunteers".

All I can say to this is government intervention is overdue to stabilise the NHS and the boards that run hospital trusts should be held accountable for not managing the services better, they say we have a national health trust for the people, but all I see is board members taking their cut before the actual workforce gets a fair shake at earning a living and some doctors are paid far too much money for the actual time they spend dealing with patients. In my opinion top level doctors should take a pay cut which should then be filtered down to the actual front line staff rather than the pyramid payment scheme used in conventional hospitals. Yes I know doctors are paid for their experience, but the high paid doctors should be capped out at no more than forty or fifty thousand a year instead of the exorbitant salaries they currently demand.

Rant you tomorrow!

Thursday 14 May 2020

14/05/2020

Well it's Thursday again, I feel like the days are flying by, I don't know about anyone else. So what's in the rant today, shall we see.

In America, President Donald Trump has said a sobering warning by his top infectious diseases expert about lifting pandemic restrictions too soon was unacceptable. He accused Dr Anthony Fauci of wanting "to play all sides of the equation" in his testimony to lawmakers on Tuesday. The President said he was especially dissatisfied with Dr Fauci's caution around reopening schools too quickly. The director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases emphasised the importance of not being "cavalier in thinking that children are completely immune to the deleterious effects" of the disease. COVID-19 has infected nearly 1.4 million people in the US and killed 84,000, while ravaging the economy. So once again we see Trump making up the rules and ignoring the advice of the professionals making it clear he believes he knows better. What a F****** ignorant person this man is, he clearly thinks he has a better understanding and knows more than anyone else in the world.

So how about the other gormless leader back in dear old Blighty. Well it's seems for now that he has met his match or should we say linguistically bettered, in the new labour leader who in prime ministers question time called out the government over the sudden removal of comparison's to other countries death numbers since the UK became number two in the world for the most deaths from COVID-19 after America. Johnson's rebuttal was weak and lacked proof, he also began to lie and mislead the house over other remarks made by the health secretary about care homes and the death tolls in them.

On the back of that response their was another argument on going over council run carehomes shutting down and care staff losing their jobs, so labour are calling for the government to hand over the money promised to subsidise the sector which has been in crisis for decades. From Johnson's display over the last few month's and the inept press briefings by his colleagues, you have to ask why were these people elected into such demanding positions. They stumble and stammer through press interviews showing how little they actually know about the role they hold or how to realistically face difficult questions from trained journalist's or the public.

Then we get reports telling us that the World Health Organisation suspects we may never beat COVID -19 and that people will have to learn to live with the disease. All I can say to that is god help us and where was the authorities contingency plans to combat all this problems. Now with the lockdown eased we are beginning to see why the WHO predicts such a thing, one day in and the social distancing has ceased as the crowds piled on to buses and trains to go about their business yesterday ignoring advice to keep six feet apart and wear masks. so much for the governments plan to ease us out of lockdown, all I can see is a fresh wave of victims coming forward.

That's me done for today,

Rant you tomorrow!

Wednesday 13 May 2020

13/05/2020

Welcome to Wednesday and shall we look at what's out there to rant about.

In America, on the back of Trump's meltdown on live TV again, today the headlines are all about how Trump's team of lawyers are trying to change the law making the president immune from any prosecution for past of future infractions. Mr Trump has refused to share documents that could shed light on his fortune and the work of his family company. Two congressional committees and New York prosecutors demand the release of his tax returns and other information. Mr Trump's private lawyers argue he enjoys total immunity while in office. A ruling is expected within weeks. Unlike other recent presidents, Mr Trump has refused to release his tax returns and a decision against him could result in his personal financial information becoming public in the campaign season. Experts say the ruling will have far-reaching implications for the ability of Congress to scrutinise the activities of sitting presidents and of prosecutors to investigate them. How can a person even be allowed to lead a country without oversight to make sure they are suitable for the position, it just dumbfounds me that a country or any country can allow a person to govern it without first doing it's due diligence. If this law is passed it will mean every president from now could be a dictator without been controlled by the rule of law.

So what's been happening in dear old Blighty. Today is the first day of the lockdown being eased, so what can we do today that we couldn't do yesterday? Two people from different households in England can meet in outdoor settings, such as parks, as long as they stay more than 2m (6ft) apart. The government has said it will impose higher fines for people who break social distancing rules. No Change except the government has found another way to tax people. The rules have also been relaxed so people in England can now spend more time outdoors "for leisure purposes". That includes sunbathing. There is no limit to the amount of exercise allowed. Activities such as golf, angling and tennis are permitted, but only alone, with members of your household or with one other person from another household. If you do exercise with someone you don't live with, remember social distancing rules still apply. Playgrounds and outdoor gyms, where there is a higher risk of close contact and touching surfaces, remain shut. Households are also able to drive to other destinations in England - such as parks and beaches. But they should not travel to Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, where people are still being told to avoid any travel which is not essential. All I can take from this rule is that as a family you can socially distance together outside more, but as a single person I am still outcast which really doesn't bother me as I am a loner anyway, but for other singles out there as far as the government is concerned "TUFF LUCK". Basically nothing has really changed as most people were probably doing most of this anyway.

Welcome to Tuesday and quite an interesting set of headlines.

In America, Trump spat his dummy out once again when questioned about the amount of American lives lost during the pandemic and why he is making it a competition by an Asian-American journalist to which he answered "They're losing their lives everywhere in the world and maybe that's a question you should ask China - don't ask me, ask China that  question. When you ask them that question you may get a very unusual answer.", then when she asked "Why are you saying that to me - specifically - that I should ask China". Trump's response was aggressive and confrontational in that he said "I'm not saying it specifically to anybody, I'm saying it to anybody that asks a nasty question". He then went on to totally blank a journalist he claimed didn't respond quick enough when pointed at, because she didn't want to interrupt her colleague and when she kept pressing to ask her question Trump shut down the press conference and walked out of the rose garden leaving journalists open-mouthed. To top off Trump's spats nearly two thousand former D.O.J officials have signed an open letter calling for AG Bill Barr to resign over his improper intervention in the criminal case of Michael Flynn.

While back in dear old Blighty the headlines are criticising Boris Johnson's inability to be decisive enough in his explanation of the reversal of the lockdown and Britain’s reputation for its handling of the coronavirus epidemic has taken another global pasting after newspapers worldwide reported on what they described as confusion and internal divisions that are rapidly creating a crisis as big as Brexit for the UK.

With many diplomats admitting that soft power reputations are being forged or destroyed during the pandemic, the European press in particular is taking time to point out that the UK is experiencing the worst death rate in Europe, revealing a National Health Service that is underfunded and underprepared. So it isn't only the British public that doesn't have confidence in the UK government.

So, we start another week in lockdown and wonder how much longer before the world returns to it's unbalanced cynicism. Well let's see what the weekend gave us to rant about.

In America, president Trump spent the weekend berating and retweeting about nonsense and attacking Obama's leaked conversation while the rest of the country comes to terms with coronavirus while reports stated VP Pence was self isolating with aides close to him testing positive. The question that doesn't seem to be getting asked though is why are the president, vice president and their families been tested daily if the virus is a hoax and their faith will protect them, what about tests for the rest of the country, this American presidency is the most cowardly, corrupt and deceitful since Nixon held office. In other news from America a particular issue has arisen  in South Dakota between the native American reservations and the state itself, where native Americans have blocked the highways and roads crossing their land to prevent spreading of the coronavirus. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is threatening to take the two tribes - the Oglala Sioux and the Cheyenne River Sioux tribes - to federal court if they do not comply. In a letter sent to their representatives on Friday, she demanded the checkpoints be removed saying "The checkpoints on state and US highways are not legal, and if they don't come down, the state will take the matter to federal court, as Governor Noem noted in her Friday letter," her senior adviser and policy director, Maggie Seidel, said in an email sent to the local Argus Leader newspaper on Sunday. Tribes are meant to get permission from state authorities if they want to close or restrict travel inside their reservations. So it seems the modern day cowboys and Indians are to fight again.

Back in dear old Blighty, Johnson has graciously granted that from Wednesday we can go out to exercise more and enter parks freely and meet family as long as social distancing is observed. Also he said in England at least, if you work in construction or manufacturing, or can't do your job from home, you'll be encouraged to go back to work as long as you can keep your distance from others this week. But importantly there will be NO change for the many people who are more vulnerable to the disease who are therefore "shielding". As for schools class sizes they are to be reduced which will put a strain on teachers especially in children under a certain age which may happen in early June and hopes for the hospitality industry will return by July. After all that the most used word by the primeminister was "If", time and time again which just showed that they have no clue when things will return to normal.
