Welcome to the mid-week madness in this now upside down world. The UK goes in to a third lockdown while America faces anarchy on its capital cities streets. Let’s have a look at what’s been going on shall we?

Well America still faces the vengeance of its outgoing mentally disturbed president who with every breath incites violence and promotes illegality within the halls of power. During a rally in Georgia, he pretty much indicated that VP Pence should find a way to not certify President-Elect Biden as the 46th president of the United States. This speech comes on the back of the leaked phone conversation where he intimidates and openly threatens Georgia’s Secretary of State to find votes for him. What America and the rest of the world is witnessing is what everyone except Trump supporters already knew, this man is corrupt and should never have set foot in the Whitehouse in the first place. Will the proposed FBI probe in to his action go anywhere?

In all of American history there has never been a worst president than Donald J. Trump, not even Nixon was as bad and that is saying something. Trump has openly profiteered off his position, used it to incite a racist ideology, committed acts of treason against the constitution and subverted or quashed any bill that did not benefit his businesses or bank balance. Clearly this man belongs in a jail cell housed amongst gentlemen of colour or who enjoy the company of other gentlemen.

Putting aside the ignorance of just under half of America’s populous in following this person, he is not alone in his act of wilful destruction of the American way of life. There are many Republican members of Congress and the Senate who believe as Trump does in ‘White Privilege’ who constantly push their own financial agendas rather than look to serve their constituents and whom should be brought to task for their piss poor humanity. These people have spent their whole lives corrupting the world of politics, so that the rich get richer and the poor just die. Even now just weeks from inauguration day there are still those loyal to Trump who wish to overturn election results stopping Biden, Harris and the democrats from taking power and even if this happens Trump cannot stay in the Whitehouse under constitutional law past January 20th which would leave America without a leader. When Biden finally takes office there should be a federal investigation in to all the members of congress and the senate who showed an openness to disobey the constitution as this is surely an act of treason on their part, inciting a mob mentality when something doesn’t go the way they want it to. What I do hope for is some semblance of sanity to come out of Georgia with both Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff elected to the Senate to reduce McConnell to Minority leader. As a British citizen, I have countless times stated how idiotic the Americans election process is and that the popular vote is a decisive count which should be the way a leader is chosen. Also as a resident of the United Kingdom I am very happy to read that the Scottish first minister has informed Trump he will not be able to enter Scotland to play golf at his Scottish resort during Biden’s Inauguration.

On that patriotic view I will metaphorically step back across the pond to rant about our own inept government leader. So today England has entered another six week lockdown trying to stave off the rising virus cases and deaths. We are nearly in to one full year since the first COVID-19 cases breached our shores and we have just gone from bad to worse under this present Conservative government that was re-elected in to power over twelve months ago. We have seen incompetence, ineptitude and blatant U-turns in how they have ruled with a delayed iron fist. While the rest of Europe closed down, Johnson kept us open for business longer and as a country we have paid the price far more than other western cultures except America. Along with the stupid Brexit eventuality, the UK has been hit hard as profitable businesses now suffer or close because they can’t make a profit while businesses owned by Johnson cronies or friends have profited off under table deals to the tune of billions of pounds.

This third lockdown in less than twelve months is hardest on the people earning amounts just above the poverty threshold whilst big business executives earn an average worker’s salary in just 34 hours, where is the equality in that. That been said, there are millions of people who aren’t counted and that is those individuals or families who are unemployed, constantly living week in and week out in poverty due to a benefits system that is archaic, which still believes a single person is only worth around £70 per week. I would like to see one of our illustrious MP’s or Primeminister survive a month on under £800 whilst paying all their rent, utility and food costs without going into debt. The absence of viable jobs other than in the health, caring, cleaning or delivery industry doesn’t help those impoverished individuals find lucrative employment. Not to mention having the ability to work from home whilst regions or the whole country are told to stay at home by the government. We as a nation are suffering both financially and medically because of a virus that is yet to be defeated, even though the government promise us the vaccines now available will do so.

Speaking of the vaccine, I sit clearly in the group that will most likely never see or receive the jab before 2022 due to the fact I am an unemployed person struggling to find his way back in to work and not medically vulnerable or over sixty. The amount of people outside the threshold set by the government who don’t immediately qualify for a vaccination shot is astronomical. They say the most vulnerable should go first and I agree with that, yet I believe if the government had acted wisely putting us in to lockdown sooner and not opening the country back up too early things would be decidedly better right now. The question needing to be asked, is how much more can we as a populous take of the present governmental structure? The leader is like a scarecrow and that’s been unkind to scarecrows, the cabinet is filled with yes people and profiteers without a backbone amongst them and the decision making is atrocious at the best of times, but under pressure it is just nonsensical. We need a government the people can believe in and can be seen to be making forward strides rather than one forward with countless backwards. Yo-yoing the nation in and out of lockdown is doing nothing to stabilise the economy or right this sinking ship of a nation which will leave the path open to con artists and fraudsters. Oh sorry, did I say leave the path open, I forgot we are already under attack from con artists and fraudsters, but we stupidly call them our local and national politicians. I have no love of Conservatives whom I see as no more than puffed up rich busybodies looking for a profession that pays them handsomely for doing as little as possible and are eighty percent blueblood stock with twenty percent commoner thrown in for good measure.

I have to say I never thought of myself as political or some who would voice political views, but this last year has simply got under my skin as I read and see how much these elected officials are under qualified to actually do the job they were elected in to. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t tar every politician with the same brush, just the ones who bubble to the surface as patriotic while pushing their own ideological agenda. The names that come to mind are Johnson, Gove, Hancock, Sunak, Raab and Patel in the UK and Trump, Pence, Cruz, McConnell, Graham, Perdue and Loeffler in the US. All of those mentioned are but a few that have made recent headlines for their methods of leadership and views which is unbecoming of the role. The biggest problem is not the way they do their jobs. It is in the fact that so many blinded voters have actually elected or re-elected these individuals despite knowing how corrupt their records truly are, so how they perform their biased ideology is squarely at the feet of those individuals who agree, condone and support them. Until more people remove their blinkers we will never see change. Trump and Pence gone along with Perdue and Loeffler is a good start. Now we have to look towards the next election cycle to remove the rest, both here in the UK and for our fellow voters to do the same in the US. On that note I will call it a day,

Rant you tomorrow!

Back Friday.
