18/11/2020

Well its midweek again and the end of week two of lockdown in England as the rest of the country stumbles on with restrictions and America hasn’t even considered it. Let’s take a look at the latest going on.

In America as I said there is no sign of any type of restrictions or lockdown to combat the spread of the coronavirus there, which isn’t surprising since the administration has been more concerned with getting another bought judge on to the Supreme Court, trying to win the election and now doing everything it can to defraud the public with its lawsuits claiming electoral mismanagement. So while the country suffers death after death Trump and the senate Republicans do nothing. The US had just over nine million Covid-19 cases when November began, now, just weeks later, the country is topping 11 million. And one west Texas County has emerged as the latest American epicentre. Right on the border with Mexico, El Paso in Texas is known for its desert landscape, military complexes and plentiful sunshine, but now, it's making a name as one of the worst hit regions in the nation. Covid-19 patient’s account for more than half of all hospital admissions in the county of El Paso, and the case count continues to trend upwards. There are five symptoms of the unfolding crisis which politicians and Trump are ignoring and they are overflowing hospitals, ten mobile morgues, Prison inmates been used to move victims’ bodies, Six months and six family members as one women bares the tragedy of loss and no lockdown in sight which means El Paso will remain a hot zone until the corrupt regime of incompetent politicians and law makers change their blinkered vision.

This is what is happening state by state yet Trump shows no concern for the devastation and instead bulldozers his way on through, refusing to accept that over seventy nine million Americans have voiced their opinion on his position. Trump is most definitely losing it as he continues to claim ballot fraud in states he did not win and on the back of a report that contradicted his claims of ballot machine tampering he has gone and fired his Chief of Cybersecurity who predicted his removal prior to it happening. This leaves yet another hole in the security of the nation because the Deputy Chief of Cybersecurity has also resigned when told he would not be filling the post as Chris Krebs replacement. The demise of a nation has well and truly started following Trump’s defeat, with Defence Secretary Mark Esper already shown the door amid reports Trump doubted the Pentagon chief's loyalty and there is also speculation in Washington DC that before Trump leaves office in January, CIA director Gina Haspel and FBI director Christopher Wray could also be for the chopping block. This is a madman on a revenge plot to destroy anyone who disobeys or disagrees with him, January is far too long to wait to remove this unhinged tyrant from a position that can cripple a nation from the top down which his actions lately have proven. His refusal to concede to Biden, the GSA doing his bidding instead of starting transition procedures, the firing of two major department directors, his wanton need to bomb Iran and his vulgarity on twitter inciting his supporters to be ready for war. The transition is usually well in flow by now, but Trump will not allow it which is a slur on the constitution and a power play to destroy democracy.

Another problem coming to light for American democracy is the blatant sabotage the sitting Republicans are causing and it is no longer covertly been done, it is completely overtly as Lindsey Graham tries to influence the outcome of the recount in Georgia by pressuring the Secretary of State to lose mail in votes and Michigan Republicans refusing to certify Biden’s win in one county in Michigan. Wayne county certifiers refused to sign off on election result but changed course after outcry from Democrat counterparts and the public gallery. This is the underhanded tactics both Trump’s administration and the GOP will use to succeed and defraud the American public of their civil rights. As an outsider living in another country all I see is what is broadcast, but what I do see is an America that is still controlled by bigots and racists wanting to stay in control. America will never recover while such people are in control of the country especially during this time of uncertainty and moral adversity.

On that realisation I will take a look at dear old Blighty and see what is happening on the ground. As Johnson and six MP’s self-isolate, now the Head of NHS Test and Trace Dido Harding is also self-isolating. If the system is so good why are the people behind the system all going down with coronavirus? If the people designated to help the nation cannot protect themselves how can they ever expect to protect the nation from this deadly pandemic. Then you have the uncertainty of how Christmas will be for millions of people especially those who live alone or are safeguarding due to previously diagnosed illnesses that would be hazardous if they caught COVID-19. While millions suffer due to these individuals ineptitude, they sit pretty in there expensive houses sipping whatever tipple they prefer. This is a huge disaster to the country as the people in charge destroy the British nation from the top down which is a travesty for our own democracy.

Along with the governing body been forced to isolate, there is still no sign that the enforced lockdown is doing us any good as the count keeps rising and the deaths are failing to plateau or decrease as a further 20,051 coronavirus cases have also been announced, taking the total number of infections in the UK to 1,410,732. Along with the UK has also recorded another 598 coronavirus deaths in the latest 24-hour period which is, so far the highest daily number of fatalities since May 6th, government figures show. This means that during the pandemic a total of 52,745 people in the country have died within 28 days of testing positive for COVID-19, but separate figures from the UK's statistics agencies for fatalities where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate dispute the government figures showing there have been 68,000 deaths involving the virus. How can people trust those in charge? When so many keep on getting sick or dying during this year of hell and it isn’t over yet.

We are facing a time of unprecedented uncertainty in everything we are doing and it isn’t just in the UK it is worldwide and until there is a global coalition to fight the present and protect the future the planet is in a dire situation. I can survive because I am alone and have no one to worry about, but for those out there with family, colleagues and very close friends it must be a nightmare not knowing whether you or they are spreading this awful virus amongst each other. They say we are 95% towards finding a viable vaccine which is also according to an efficacy analysis is 94% effective at protecting over-65s from the virus. The big question is when will it be rolled out as they are only just at the stage where they will to submit the COVID-19 vaccine to the US regulator for emergency use approval. The UK regulator, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), is also poised to fast-track authorisation of the vaccine after the government ordered enough for 20 million people. Meanwhile the UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said that, pending authorisation, the NHS will be ready to roll them out to the most vulnerable from December 1st this year, but we will see if that is another thing this incompetent government takes a U-turn on. Since March the pandemic has controlled the government instead of them having strategic plans in place for such an event.

All in all I can’t wait to see the back of 2020, just so we can see some stability in the world with firstly the removal of Trump from the Whitehouse and then for our own government to hopefully be removed from power, been replaced by someone who recognises the people as people and not just as a number like Johnson has. Also so we can get some stability with the Brexit fiasco that has trundled on way too long. On that note I will call it a day,

Rant you tomorrow!
